Meet the Designer
Design Philosophy
My design philosophy, "comfort the disturbed," was adapted from Cesar A. Cruz, a gang violence prevention advocate and Dean of the Secondary Schools Program at Harvard University. While discovering my design voice and purpose, I realized that at the center of everything lie people—our way of life and struggles serve as significant inspirations for me. As a designer, I believe it's my responsibility to make a statement with my art. I aim to push people out of their comfort zones and compel them to reflect on the messages I convey with my art. I think as a society, we're too addicted to our comforts, and I'm determined to challenge that.
Brand personality
Defined by edginess, provocation, and structured aesthetics, my brand exudes a distinct personality that challenges the status quo. Every design encapsulates a daring narrative, pushing boundaries and provoking thought with its unconventional approach. From bold silhouettes to intricate detailing, my pieces command attention, leaving a lasting impression on the fashion landscape.
At the core of my brand personality lies a commitment to precision and sophistication. Each garment is meticulously crafted, showcasing a perfect blend of structure and innovation. I embrace the unconventional, infusing my creations with an allure that captivates the senses and ignites the imagination.
Design Inspiration
My design philosophy is deeply rooted in alternative styles, drawing inspiration from the rebellious essence of the punk subculture, as well as the boundary-pushing innovation of avant-garde fashion. I find myself particularly drawn to the works of visionary designers such as Alexander McQueen, renowned for his daring creativity and theatrical flair; Charles James, celebrated for his sculptural approach to couture; and Robert Wun, whose avant-garde designs challenge conventional aesthetics with their bold experimentation. Their influence not only shapes my aesthetic sensibilities but also fuels my passion for pushing the boundaries of conventional fashion, creating garments that provoke thought and evoke emotion.
let’s get deep
Originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, I moved to Los Angeles in 2021 to pursue my education at FIDM where I received my BA in fashion design. I've honed my skills through various capsule collections and internships with local designers. Outside of school, I enjoy exploring Los Angeles' diverse neighborhoods and attending concerts.
My love for fashion began at nine years old when I received a sewing machine as a gift, sparking a lifelong passion. In high school, I further developed my skills in industrial machinery, draping, and pattern drafting. Ultimately, I aspire to become a couture seamstress for a prestigious fashion house.
